F.A.Q.

What do I get back from you?

• A detailed report with comments and explanations that correlate to the corrections made in the manuscript as well as simple instructions for handling the files.

• Your manuscript with full edits and mark-ups.

• If you choose to have all edits done "in file" (not in PDF), you will also receive a clean, edited manuscript with all changes made.

How do I count the words?

Go to the form where you can calculate if your software does not calculate for you.

If your project is a website or a complex number of files, email Tammy with details about the project for simple instructions to calculate and complete the form.

How should my manuscript be formatted?

Editing requires double-spaced lines in 12-pt font. You may otherwise impose your preferences, but there are basic manuscript guidelines most publishers follow:

Learn the basic formatting required for unpublished manuscripts or downloadthis Word template to create your manuscript (right click for Windows or press control+click for Mac).

Do you provide other services for writers?

Yes. Editing, Rewriting, Transcription, Reformatting, Re-Typing, Ghostwriting, etc.

Currently, coverage services are suspended indefinitely.

May I send you a hardcopy by snailmail?

Yes. Just contact me to request mailing info. You will need to provide a stamped return envelope with your submission. Electronic submissions are preferred to keep cost, time and environmental impact at a minimum.

May I just submit a portion of my work, or a very small document?

Yes, but there is a $35 minimum charge, even if your work is under 7,000 words (approx. 35 pages).

Do you proofread query letters and synopses?

Yes. It is recommended to include such materials with the manuscript, added to the word count.

For requests separate from the manuscript, there is a $35/minimum.
